Andrew P. Hayek

President and Chief Executive Officer

SCA named Andrew president and chief executive officer on May 1st, 2008. Andrew recently served as president of VillageHealth Inc., an insurance and care management company owned by DaVita Inc., the nation’s leading independent provider of kidney dialysis services. Prior to his role at VillageHealth, Andrew served as president and chief operating officer of Alliance Imaging, Inc., a $450 million revenue diagnostic imaging and radiation oncology business (NYSE: AIQ), operating in 43 states. He worked previously for Capstone Consulting (an operations consulting firm affiliated with private equity firm Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.), The Pritzker Organization (a merchant banking firm affiliated with the Pritzker family of Chicago, owners of Hyatt Hotels), and the Boston Consulting Group. Andrew earned a Bachelor of Arts summa cum laude from Yale University.

 

Joseph T. Clark

Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer

SCA named Joe its chief operating officer in July 2007. Joe served as president of HealthSouth’s Surgery Center Division since March 2005. Prior to joining HealthSouth, Joe served as president and chief executive officer of HealthMark Partners, Inc., an owner, operator and developer of ASCs and specialty hospitals. From March 1988 to August 1999, he served in various senior management roles, including chief executive officer of Response Oncology, a provider of cancer services. Joe also has 10 years of experience with two proprietary hospital chains: Humana and American Medical International.

 

Richard L. Sharff (Rich)

Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary

SCA named Rich its general counsel in July 2007. He worked with the SCA transition team as a partner with Birmingham-based law firm Bradley Arant Rose and White, LLP. At Bradley Arant, Rich concentrated his practice on representation of clients in the healthcare industry. While he has experience with a wide variety of matters, his focus has been on healthcare clients' needs in the regulatory and litigation areas. He has provided advice to clients on numerous regulatory matters, such as the Stark Law, fraud and abuse issues and HIPAA compliance, and he has extensive experience drafting and negotiating contracts, particularly between healthcare facilities and physicians.

 

William L. Wann, Jr. (Chip)

Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer

SCA named Chip its executive vice president and chief financial officer in July 2007. Prior to joining SCA, Chip had significant senior-level financial and general management experience. He served as vice president and chief financial officer for the life and annuity division, acquisitions division and reinsurance administration of Protective Life Corporation. In addition, he served in a variety of financial positions with a strong focus on structuring and negotiating complex debt and equity financing. Chip is a certified public accountant. He has a bachelor’s in accounting and a master’s in tax accounting from the University of Alabama.

 

Brian T. Pope

Executive Vice President and Chief Development Officer

Brian serves as the Company’s executive vice president and chief development officer. He was part of the new management team recruited by Health South and served as senior vice president and chief financial officer of HealthSouth’s Surgery Center Division since March 2005. Prior to joining HealthSouth, he was senior vice president of hospital operations for HealthMark Partners, a privately owned ASC and specialty hospital company based in Nashville, TN. Brian also worked in mergers and acquisitions with Columbia/HCA. Brian is a certified public accountant and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Tennessee.
