Surgery Centers

Our ambulatory or outpatient surgery centers provide same-day surgeries in a variety of specialties, including ophthalmology, orthopedics, gastroenterology, and others. Patients arrive on the day of their procedure, have their surgery in a fully equipped operating room, and recover under the care of highly skilled nurses, all without hospital admission. All of our centers are surveyed through The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO), the American Association of Ambulatory Surgery Centers (AAASC), or the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). We’re committed to patient satisfaction; SCA centers regularly score above the national standard on patient satisfaction surveys performed by an outside third party. Our surgery centers offer patients a lower-cost, more convenient alternative to the traditional hospital in a high-quality setting. SCA has 127 centers across the country.

Surgical Hospitals

SCA's Surgical Hospitals specialize in same-day surgical services but also have the capability to perform more complex surgeries that require an overnight stay. These hospitals tend to be smaller than traditional, acute-care hospitals, and their focused mission allows them to provide highly specialized, high-quality care to their patients in a cost-efficient setting. All of SCA's surgical hospitals, like our outpatient surgery centers, are accredited through The Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO). As part of our ongoing efforts to provide patients with the best possible experience, all of our surgical hospitals participate in patient satisfaction surveys through an unbiased third party. SCA has three surgical hospitals providing quality surgical care to their patients.
